Vixta

Vixta is a Fedora based Linux distribution, designed to look and feel like Windows Vista. Vixta runs as a live DVD which means you can run it directly off the DVD without installing it to your computer. You then have the option to install it permanently if you so choose.

There are no system requirements listed on the Vixta website, but having run it in VMWare we have found it to be very sluggish and slow with 256MB of RAM, but works well with 384MB of RAM.

Order Vixta

The latest version of Vixta, 098.1 3D, was released on January 8th 2008. The downloadable image is slightly too big to fit on a CD so comes on a DVD instead - you will need a DVD reader to be able to run and install Vixta.

The Linux CD Mall is now closed and we are no longer shipping CDs or DVDs. This site is currently being updated to be a Linux and BSD news and information blog, and a directory of where to buy Linux and BSD, and we will update the information on this page shortly. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Read here for more information.
