Can I come and collect my CD order from you?
We are a family business that operates from home. For this reason we cannot allow people to come and collect their CD orders. All orders within New Zealand are sent by Courier Post and if placed before 3pm should arrive the next business day.
How much does a CD set cost?
Please refer to our pricing page for more information about costs.
How much does shipping cost?
Please refer to our shipping information for details about shipping.
What currencies do you accept?
We accept New Zealand Dollars (NZD), United States Dollars (USD) and Australian Dollars (AUD). When you add a distribution CD set to your order you choose which currency to pay with. If you are shipping to a New Zealand address you must pay in New Zealand Dollars and your order total will include GST. Please refer to our pricing page for more details.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept VISA, Master Card, and American Express. Credit cards are processed using PayPal in the currency you select. Credit card details are entered in a secure form on the PalPay website and we have no way of accessing this payment information.
If you are in New Zealand you can pay by direct banking into our bank account; please note that for we cannot ship orders until the funds appear in our account. If your payment is made before 10pm it should usually go into our account overnight. If you have an ASB Bank account then it should go into our account within a few minutes. For faster service pay by credit card as the funds are collected instantly.
How secure is this site?
The actual credit card payments page is on the PayPal servers and we have no way of accessing any payment data.
Any pages on our site that request shipping or billing information or require you to log in are SSL encrypted using a secure certifiate issued by Starfield Technologies Ltd.
My CDs don't work
If for some reason the CDs are damaged we will replace them at no cost.
Can I request a distribution?
If you are after a Linux or BSD based distribution that we do not currently have, please use our request a distribution form and we will see what we can do. All the current distributions we stock are listed in the "Distributions" navigation down the left side of the page. We try to keep the versions as up to date as possible.
If a distribution is free why should I buy from you?
You are quite welcome to download the ISO images from the distribtion's website, ftp mirror or via bittorrent and burn them to your own CDs instead of ordering from us.
By ordering from us, we save you time, possible data charges and the ability to keep your Internet connection free for other uses. A single ISO image takes about 24 hours to download on a standard dial up connection, and about 6 to 8 hours on a 256kbps connection. If the distribution you want comes on several CDs and you don't have a very fast Internet connection it may take a few days to download the entire set.
Our CDs and DVDs are all burnt to order and printed with the distribution name and logo on them and come in DVD sized cases, either a slimline case if you order a single CD or DVD set, or a case that can hold 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 CDs/DVDs depending on the number in the set.
Does the cost of my CD come with any support?
While we do try to help where we can, we cannot guarantee any support for your Linux and BSD distributions, or whether it even will work on your computer. Each distribution's page on this site has a "Useful Links" section which contains links to places of support. Other useful avenues for support are search engines such as Google and Yahoo, and Google's Usenet Groups Archive.
Do you ship anywhere in the world?
We ship to a limited number of countries as follows: American Samoa, Australia, Austria, Canada, Cook Islands, Czech Republic, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kiribati, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Samoa, Singapore, Slovakia, South Arica, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tokelau, Tonga, United Kingdom, United States and Vanuatu.
